BVI Gateway Travellers
Authorization Certificate
Travellers to the British Virgin Islands are required to obtain a BVI Gateway Travel Authorization Certificate prior to arrival.
Each traveller including children must complete or have completed an application to obtain a travel certificate for presentation to airline authorities.
Applications must be started 48 hours prior to travelling.
Check Documents
Ensure that you have all of your documents.
- COVID 19 negative PCR lab test result within 5 days of your arrival date in the BVI. FULLY vaccinated travellers are permitted to present a negative Antigen test.
- Passport information.
- Proof of payment for the required minimum accommodation depending on your quarantine period.
- Travel insurance that covers COVID-19
Register on BVI Gateway Portal
Register and Complete the Application form:
- Log onto BVIGateway.BVIAA.com and begin the application process
- Complete the health and accommodation questions
- Upload the relevant document when prompted
- Submit your application for review. Applications must be started no later than arrival 48 hours before date in the BVI
- Based on a review of your application you may be required to provide missing and/or additional information in order to finalize your application.

Download and Save Your Travel Authorization
Use your travel authorisation to make your travel arrangements and keep a printed or electronic copy of the authorization.
Keep your negative PCR results with you along with your ticket and passport to check-in and board your flight.
- Each traveller including children must have completed an application to obtain a travel certificate for presentation to airline authorities.
- Please note that you will not be able to board the flight without your travel authorisation and PCR test results.
